Within the scope of its promotional Fair activities, NGO “Krajina” Business Incubator Banja Luka, participated on third Fair of traditional Agricultural Products that was held in Nevesinje. Nevesinje organizes so called “Olympics” and as a part of this manifestation this fair is held as well, the Fair named Fair of Agricultural Products and Handwork Nevesinje 2007”. Municipality of Nevesinje is small town in Herzegovina, with very developed handwork tradition, beekeeping, nursing old recipes in gastronomy and in other fields. The Fair was opened by Mr. Željko Vaško Director of Office for projects coordination of RS Government together with the Mayor of the Municipality, Mr. Branislav Miković.

NGO Krajina, on its display stand, presented its latest projects, promotional materials from 4th International Conference about certification of organic products, presented the production lines of our collaborators who are engaged in Medical herbs growth and processing, as well as our production of Medical herbs and honey.

This was a great opportunity to present our certified producers who are exporters of their internationally recognized products from the field of collective production. We are expecting that in the future period we will have much more certified producers, through NGO Krajina and ECOCERT as our partner in this responsible and important work. From this cooperation most benefits will have agricultural producers, who are engaged in production of healthy, safe, organic food.

Numerous representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Waterpower and Forestry were present at the Fair, officials for Nevesinje Municipality and representatives from many Agencies (such as Agency for food safety of BIH) and Collectives that are very important segment of Agriculture in BIH.

In short conversation with Organizational Board of the Fair, Mr. Dragan Brenjo said: “Municipality of Nevesinje, for third time now, is organizing the fair of Traditional Products with aim to preserve and protect these products on correct manner, as part of our tradition and heritage of our country”.

When this Fair was organized for the first time, it covered only Herzegovina area, but now it is expanding to other areas, so this time we had exhibitors from neighbor countries and from brother area of BIH. We hope that this positive trend of protection and preservation of our products will continue in the future as well.

As one of the employees of the Agency for Food safety in BIH will present the lecture about this field on AGROS 2007 Fair that will take place in Banja Luka in period from 07-11 September 2007. The lecture will be related to Regulations about protection of originality, geography origin of agriculture products that was in preparation for a loner period of time by this Agency.

At the end we can conclude that we need more similar activities in BIH and that is an imperative for all of us to accept modern trends in production, to go beck to our roots and preserve our original products, as a permanent value.
