During our stay in Republic of Serbia during month of April we had a work meeting with Mr. Dragoljub Janković who recently become ECOCERT Director for Balkans Region.

On that occasion we defined the direction of our future cooperation and we discussed the possibility of establishment of ECOCERT’s certification service here in republic of Srpska/BIH, in cooperation with NGO Krajina.

In future period ECOCERT is planning to establish service system intended for producers and processors and expert personnel engaged in the project “establishment of Domestic accredited certification house based on EU standards” in cooperation with NGO Krajina. This service would include education and training, informing about certification procedures and certification procedure itself and informing about importance of the ECOCERT certificate on the market.

During this short work meeting we agreed how these activities will be carried out in general. This will provide the conditions for 5th Organic Production and Certification Conference to be held in Banja Luka on 9th, 10th and 11th of May. We will provide you with more information about this event in our report.
